Product description
REAL COCONUT, NOTHING ELSE
This coconut oil is made from real coconuts, with no hidden ingredients — free of additives, preservatives, and fillers. It is unbleached, unrefined, and undeodourised, meaning it retains the natural taste and aroma of fresh coconut that refined (RBD) coconut oil loses during processing.
COLD-PRESSED PROCESSING
Cold-pressing extracts oil from coconut flesh without high heat, preserving more of the oil's natural flavour, aroma, and nutrient profile than heat- or solvent-based extraction methods used in refined coconut oil production.
FAT PROFILE — WHAT'S ACTUALLY DIFFERENT ABOUT COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil is almost entirely saturated fat, with a meaningful proportion in the form of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which the body metabolises differently from the long-chain fats found in most other cooking oils. This is a genuinely different nutritional profile from olive oil or other liquid vegetable oils — it is not interchangeable with them, and is best understood on its own terms rather than compared directly on a like-for-like health basis. A note on “cholesterol-free”: this is true of coconut oil, but it's true of every plant-derived oil, since cholesterol is found only in animal fats — it is not a distinguishing feature of this product specifically.
TWO USES IN ONE BUCKET — KITCHEN AND SELF-CARE
This coconut oil is genuinely dual-purpose: a versatile cooking oil for the kitchen, and a natural option for skin and hair care. Coconut oil is widely used as a moisturiser, hair conditioner, and makeup remover due to its emollient (moisturising) properties — these are well-established cosmetic uses, distinct from the dietary health claims that require more careful, evidence-based framing.
HOW TO USE
- Baking and frying: a stable, high-volume cooking oil for everyday kitchen use.
- Smoothies: a small spoonful blended in for texture and a mild coconut note.
- Popcorn: melted and drizzled over freshly popped popcorn.
- Straight off the spoon: a simple, traditional way to enjoy the oil's natural flavour.
- Body moisturiser: applied directly to skin as a natural moisturising option.
- Hair conditioner: worked through hair ends or used as a pre-wash treatment.
- Makeup remover: applied to a cotton pad to gently dissolve makeup.
- Massage oil: a natural, single-ingredient alternative to synthetic massage oil blends.
Store in a cool, dry place. Coconut oil is naturally shelf-stable due to its high saturated fat content and does not require refrigeration; it will naturally solidify below approximately 24–25°C and liquefy above that temperature, which is normal and not a sign of quality change. Given the bulk 4L format, consider decanting a smaller working quantity into a separate jar for daily kitchen or bathroom use to limit repeated opening of the main bucket.
