Product description
BETA-CAROTENE — THE ORANGE ANTIOXIDANT
Beta-carotene is a fat-soluble carotenoid that your body converts to Vitamin A as needed (the most bioavailable plant-based Vitamin A source). Unlike preformed Vitamin A (retinol), beta-carotene from plants cannot accumulate to toxic levels — your body only converts what it needs.
Vitamin A from beta-carotene supports:
- Vision (particularly night vision — rhodopsin synthesis)
- Immune function (epithelial barrier integrity, T-cell activation)
- Skin health (cell turnover, UV protection)
- Bone health
ZINC (from pumpkin):
Zinc is one of the most common micronutrient deficiencies globally. Essential for:
- Immune function (T-cell and B-cell development)
- Wound healing
- Reproductive health (testosterone synthesis)
- Taste and smell
- DNA synthesis
POTASSIUM (340mg/100g fresh equivalent):
Supports healthy blood pressure (balances sodium), heart health, and muscle function.
LOW CALORIE:
Only 26 kcal per 100g fresh equivalent (concentrated in powder to ~254 kcal/100g — but you use 1–2 tsp, not 100g). Excellent fibre-to-calorie ratio.
HOW TO USE:
- 1–2 tsp in smoothies, protein shakes, porridge, soups, pasta sauces and baked goods
- Gulf & Levantine: stir into a spiced pumpkin shorba, or into stews for body and natural sweetness
- Desserts: pairs beautifully with cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom for Arabic-style sweets and puddings
- Baking: replace 10–20% of the flour with pumpkin powder for colour, moisture and nutrition
- Lattes: whisk into warm milk for a pumpkin-spice latte
- Adds natural orange colour without artificial dye
STORAGE

1 tsp (5g) of pumpkin powder provides approximately 235 mcg RAE of Vitamin A (from beta-carotene) — about 26% of the daily requirement. This is from beta-carotene, not preformed Vitamin A, so there is no risk of toxicity even with daily use. Fat-soluble — absorption doubles when taken with fat.1 tsp (5g) of pumpkin powder provides approximately 235 mcg RAE of Vitamin A (from beta-carotene) — about 26% of the daily requirement.
