Store: refrigerate in the crisper drawer, unwashed, for up to 4-5 days.
Look for: firm, bright pods that snap cleanly.
Trim the stem ends before cooking; the flat pods may have a fine string to pull.

HOW TO USE & SERVE
Flat beans are a quick, versatile vegetable for any UAE kitchen.
- The simplest way: trim, then steam or blanch 4-6 minutes and toss with olive oil, lemon and sea salt.
- Sauteed: with garlic, chilli and a squeeze of lemon as a fast side.
- Indian style: as a poriyal or sabzi with mustard seeds, curry leaves and coconut.
- Braised (Mediterranean): slow-cook with tomato, garlic and olive oil until meltingly soft.
