Product description
THE DETERGENT PARENTS STOP WORRYING ABOUT
Most laundry detergents that reach UAE supermarket shelves contain synthetic fragrances, optical brighteners, and petrochemical surfactants. These are effective at cleaning — but for households with newborns, eczema, or fragrance sensitivity, every wash becomes a calculation.
Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent removes that calculation entirely.
Formulated without any fragrance, this is a zero-fragrance detergent suitable for washing everything from newborn onesies to adult clothing for people with contact dermatitis or eczema. The cleaning action comes entirely from its Aleppo soap base — saponified olive oil and saponified bay laurel berry oil — with no synthetic fragrance molecules added at any point.
WHAT MAKES ALEPPO SOAP DIFFERENT FROM SYNTHETIC DETERGENTS
Conventional liquid detergents use petrochemical-derived surfactants (sodium lauryl sulfate, linear alkylbenzene sulfonates) as their primary cleaning agents. These are effective but can strip natural oils from both skin and textile fibres with repeated use.
Aleppo soap uses saponified plant oils — olive oil and bay laurel berry oil — as its base. The saponification process converts these oils into natural soap molecules that clean through a different mechanism: they lift dirt and oils from fibres through surface tension reduction, without the aggressive stripping action of synthetic surfactants.
Saponified olive oil: emollient, gentle cleaning agent that preserves fabric fibres.
Saponified bay laurel berry oil: contains natural lauroyl compounds with additional cleaning and conditioning properties. Bay laurel oil (also called laurel berry oil) is the distinctive ingredient that separates authentic Aleppo soap from plain olive oil soap — it constitutes 5–20% of traditional Aleppo soap formulations.
The result: effective stain removal — including at 30–40°C — while preserving the softness and colour integrity of fabrics.
WHAT 'ECOCERT CERTIFIED' MEANS
This product is certified by Ecocert Greenlife under the Ecocert "Ecodetergent" standard. To hold this certification:
— 98%+ of ingredients must be of natural origin (this product is at 98%)
— No ingredients that are persistent, bioaccumulative, or toxic (PBT substances)
— Biodegradable surfactants only
— No GMO-derived ingredients
— The manufacturing process is audited annually
This is a third-party verified certification — not a self-declared "natural" claim.
WHO THIS DETERGENT IS FOR
Newborns and infants: baby skin has a thinner stratum corneum than adult skin and is more permeable to residual chemicals from clothing. Fragrance-free washing minimises contact sensitisation risk in the critical first months.
Eczema and contact dermatitis: fragrance is the most common cause of contact allergic dermatitis from clothing. Fragrance-free detergent is the standard first-line recommendation from dermatologists for eczema management.
Fragrance sensitivity and asthma: volatile fragrance compounds from clothing can trigger respiratory reactions in sensitive individuals. Fragrance-free laundry significantly reduces this exposure.
White and light-coloured laundry: the formula is designed to clean without the optical brighteners that can give a blue-white cast and may cause photosensitivity reactions.
Anyone who wants clean clothes with nothing unnecessary in the formula.
HOW TO USE
Machine wash: add the recommended dose to your machine's detergent drawer. The liquid dissolves quickly and distributes evenly.
Dosage: refer to the cap markings. Standard load: see packaging. The 2L bottle provides 36 washes.
Temperature: effective from 30°C. Using 40°C instead of 90°C uses 3x less energy with equivalent results for most everyday laundry.
Pre-treatment for stains: apply Najel Aleppo Stain-Removing Soap directly to the stain, leave 10 minutes, then wash normally.
Fabric softener alternative: add a small amount of white vinegar to the softener drawer. It softens fabrics, eliminates residual odour, and descales the machine drum — without adding fragrance back to the wash.
Hand washing: dilute in lukewarm water. Effective for delicate items.
Eco tip: a full load at 30°C with the correct dose outperforms a half-load at 60°C for both cleaning and environmental impact.

Yes. This detergent is effective from 30°C upwards. The liquid Aleppo soap base dissolves and distributes evenly in cold and warm water, which allows it to penetrate fibres and remove dirt and stains at lower temperatures than powder detergents. For everyday clothing and lightly soiled items, 30–40°C delivers excellent results. For heavily soiled items (sports clothing, kitchen textiles, cloth nappies), 40–60°C is recommended. There is no need to wash at 90°C for standard household laundry — beyond significant energy savings, lower temperatures also preserve fabric colour and fibre integrity over time.Yes — this detergent is effective from 30°C upwards. Yes. This is one of the most appropriate detergents for cloth nappies. Fragrance-free, hypoallergenic detergents are the standard recommendation from cloth nappy communities because fragrance residues in fabric are a primary cause of nappy rash and skin irritation in infants. The Ecocert-certified, 98% natural origin formula is fully biodegradable and leaves no persistent chemical residue. Use the standard dose. Skip fabric softener — it reduces the absorbency of nappy fibers. White vinegar in the softener drawer is a safe alternative that maintains absorbency.
