Product description
CERTIFIED ORGANIC, SOURCED FROM REAL FARMS
This poha is sourced from certified organic farms across India, grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilisers, or chemical insecticides, using controlled organic farming practices. [NEEDS VERIFICATION]: specific certifying body and authority code should be confirmed and added once available, in the same level of detail provided for the Texturas range.
WHITE POHA, HONESTLY — LIGHTER AND MILDER THAN RED
This is white poha, made from polished white rice with the bran layer removed during milling — the lightest, mildest, and quickest-cooking form of poha. Worth being clear about: white poha is genuinely lower in dietary fibre than red poha (roughly 0.5–1.5g per 100g, compared to red poha's 2.5–3.5g) and lacks the anthocyanin antioxidants that give red poha its colour and additional nutritional profile. This isn't a flaw — it's simply what polished white rice is, and it's part of why white poha has the soft, delicate texture and quick cooking time that's made it the most familiar, widely-used form of poha across Indian households for generations. If dietary fibre and antioxidant content are your priority, we'd point you toward our Red Poha Rice instead.
WHY POHA COOKS SO FAST AND SITS LIGHTLY
Like all poha, this product is made by parboiling rice before flattening and drying it — a process that partially gelatinises the starch, which is the genuine, food-science reason poha cooks so quickly and is traditionally considered easy to digest, rather than just a marketing phrase.
A NOTE ON IRON CONTENT
Iron content in packaged poha can vary significantly depending on whether the product is fortified — unfortified poha typically contains a modest 2–4mg of iron per 100g, while poha fortified to Indian FSSAI standards can show substantially higher levels. [NEEDS VERIFICATION]: this product's fortification status is not currently confirmed, and we'd rather state that honestly than imply a specific iron content we haven't verified.
NATURALLY GLUTEN-FREE
Made entirely from rice, this poha is naturally gluten-free — suitable for those avoiding gluten by preference or necessity. As with any naturally gluten-free product, those managing coeliac disease or severe gluten sensitivity should confirm cross-contamination controls directly with us if that's a specific concern.
HOW TO USE— QUICK, LIGHT & ADAPTABLE
