Product description
ROOTZ ORGANICS BROWN SONA MASOORI RICE - WHOLEGRAIN MEDIUM-GRAIN
Sona Masoori is a much-loved lightweight, medium-grain rice, and this is the brown (wholegrain) version with the bran retained rather than milled away. That gives it more fibre, a mild nutty flavour and a slightly firmer bite than white Sona Masoori, while keeping its light, everyday character.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
As a wholegrain, brown Sona Masoori keeps the bran, so it provides more fibre than white rice, and its mild flavour makes it an easy, versatile everyday grain for curries, bowls and traditional dishes. It's organic and naturally gluten-free, providing carbohydrates to fuel everyday meals.

Sign UpIt's the wholegrain version of Sona Masoori, a lightweight medium-grain rice. Instead of being milled to white, the bran layer is kept on, which gives it more fibre, a mild nutty flavour and a slightly firmer bite, while keeping Sona Masoori's light, everyday character.
White Sona Masoori has the bran removed for a lighter, quicker-cooking grain, while brown Sona Masoori keeps the bran, so it's a wholegrain with more fibre and a nuttier taste, and it takes a little longer to cook. Choose brown for a wholegrain everyday rice.
Rinse it two to three times, then soak for 20 to 30 minutes (recommended for brown rice), and cook with about two to two and a half cups of water per cup of rice until tender. Like most brown rice, it takes a little longer to cook than white and benefits from soaking.
Yes — it's organic and, as rice is a naturally gluten-free grain, it suits gluten-free diets. As always, if you have coeliac disease, check the packaging for your needs. Values are approximate references.
